Tax exempt HB-2175 for Free DME Providers
Legislative Alert - Immediate Action Requested
I am happy to announce that Washington State House Bill 2175 has advanced to the Finance Committee. There will be a public hearing on this bill Tuesday Jan 27 at 0800.
This bill would make organizations like KC Help that provide free DME services here in the Tri Cities and around the State exempt from sales and use tax.
As you know We have been supporting our community with free durable medical equipment since its inception nearly 30 years ago.
This bill would be great for KC Help as more in-home care mattresses, wheelchair parts and batteries could be procured with a tax saving for our community. What this means for just the Tri Cities is being able to buy 25 more Hospital long term mattresses or parts for 400 manual wheelchairs or batteries for 38 more electric wheelchairs. State wide it would be huge as we have 3 more KC Help facilities across the state.
